Deutsche Bank

If you have an EC-card issued by the Deutsche Bank, you can only draw out money from the very very few Deutsche Bank automats without being charged any extra fee here. This entry shows you how to find the Chinese Headquarters of Deutsche Bank.
First of all, you should take a bus to the Baifangfen station and walk to the east until you reach the crossing.
This building is called Deutsche Bank Tower. Germany is a capital rich country.

Through out my olympic time in Beijing I had the chance to obtain a load of cards with different functions. Now let me show them off.
This piece of card is for Chinese citizens who work for foreign media, issued by the government, of course, for they have to keep track on everything you say and do. In other words, this is like some turned over work permit for domestic use.
This is my official identity card at the German House during the olympic games, nothing more than a decoration.
And I became a "constructor" when I was to work in the backyard of Hotel Kempinski, where the ZDF studio was built up. This card was designed especially for the hotel security, for there were more than ten companies on duty in the garden at the same time.
This one enabled me to enter the guest area of German House and gave full access to the 200-euro-buffet. As this was only a day pass, I only had such chance on the last few days to enjoy wonderful meal.
On the king-sized paralympic accreditation I am a "TECH & PROD PERSONNEL". I was guaranteed with unlimited access to all the venues though I actually did a humble job. But I'm still proud of it.

A short family trip

In China we don't have brothers and sisters in the family, so we mostly hang out with cousins on national holidays.
We drove to Huairou, about two hours north of Beijing City.
There is a lake called Yanqihu. Some nature.
Trout is the most famous dish in town. You can catch them yourself and see them being cooked.
Then you eat them in restaurants like this.
Me and my little cousins were talking about buying a villa some day in this area.

This photo was taken by Buding on the first of October 2005, when I was working for Rolling Stone China on a MIDI feature, for the dummy only.
And three years after I've turned myself into an Ali-Bongo-like style freak, wetman (潮人) in Chinglish, leaving rockn'roll on its own way home.

The Olympic job

Basically I was working on the Olympic Games each and every day from July to August. However, I didn't make it to work inside the International Broadcasting Centre during that time. My work place was Kempinski Hotel and its garden, where two Olympic shows from the ARD and ZDF were produced.
For most of the time I was assisting a group of lighting technicians. These are the Andreas and the Ken, very nice people. Besides some translating jobs I took a big part in physical training, including carrying, climbing and of course setting up the light system in both indoor and open air studios.
Basically we set up everything that shines in the garden studio of ZDF.
There ain't much going on while ARD was recording inside the hotel. The show was quite compact and interesting, too.
I spent every night during the games in front of the tele watching the shows being recorded.
Because the ARD studio was small and always crowded, there were always people on idle like me in the RESTROOM.
I've had some very nice colleagues.
There were celebs hanging around every day. Some get used to it while some couldn't. This one is Dirk Nowitzki.
