This piece of card is for Chinese citizens who work for foreign media, issued by the government, of course, for they have to keep track on everything you say and do. In other words, this is like some turned over work permit for domestic use.

This is my official identity card at the German House during the olympic games, nothing more than a decoration.

And I became a "constructor" when I was to work in the backyard of Hotel Kempinski, where the ZDF studio was built up. This card was designed especially for the hotel security, for there were more than ten companies on duty in the garden at the same time.

This one enabled me to enter the guest area of German House and gave full access to the 200-euro-buffet. As this was only a day pass, I only had such chance on the last few days to enjoy wonderful meal.

On the king-sized paralympic accreditation I am a "TECH & PROD PERSONNEL". I was guaranteed with unlimited access to all the venues though I actually did a humble job. But I'm still proud of it.]]> ]]> We, 01 Oct 2008 20:17:05 -0800

However, I didn't make it to work inside the International Broadcasting Centre during that time. My work place was Kempinski Hotel and its garden, where two Olympic shows from the ARD and ZDF were produced.

For most of the time I was assisting a group of lighting technicians. These are the Andreas and the Ken, very nice people. Besides some translating jobs I took a big part in physical training, including carrying, climbing and of course setting up the light system in both indoor and open air studios.

Basically we set up everything that shines in the garden studio of ZDF.

There ain't much going on while ARD was recording inside the hotel. The show was quite compact and interesting, too.

I spent every night during the games in front of the tele watching the shows being recorded.

Because the ARD studio was small and always crowded, there were always people on idle like me in the RESTROOM.

I've had some very nice colleagues.
